A DAY ON THE FARM

Image
A fter School on Wednesday the kids and I joined a friend and visited Summerseat Farm.  We all had a blast!  The kids were able to run around and explore the old farm house and I dreamed of one day having one of our own.  A Big thanks to our friends Jessie and little Colin for giving us such a fun experience. CLICK HERE to see the video of the day. Note in the first few clips Fiona does EVERYTHING Reed does, they truly have a monkey-see monkey-do relationship.

My First Photo Session

Image
A couple of weeks ago I had my first session with a fun family.   Click Here   to see the results. I recognize I still need much practice but the truth is I love that I was able to give this everlasting memory to this deserving family practice or not. Sunday I took photo's of a unique family.  Hold tight, I'll be sharing the results within the week. ___________________________________________________________________________ On another note... This picture alone proves that Fiona has her Daddy wrapped around her finger.  He let her "paint" his toe nails with marker. What a GREAT dad!

There's Always An Upside

Image
It's a rainy day.  The upside is... It's an excuse to visit the library and play board games. Let us not forget Playing in the rain (Reed quickly undressed himself. Pictures of him, although tempting, are not appropriate to post)

A Mother's Endless Love

Image
After having Reed  I was introduced to a unique love... that of a mother. Every sunset I thought I could not possibly love him more.  With the sunrise somehow I found room in my heart to do just that.    As a new mother I shared this phenomenon with Grammy O'Malley. Her response both intrigued me and frightened me. She told me this doesn't end...even when your child is an adult, your love for them continues to grow.  Today my Grammy lay to rest another one of her children, my Uncle Timmy.  My heart breaks thinking of how great of a loss this is for her.  But her roots are deep(35 grandchildren  50 great-grandchildren kind of deep).  Her faith strong Her branches may sway but she is a resilient women and will never ever crumble. Our thoughts are with all the O'Malley's today We Love You

Happy Birthday Grandma!

Dear Reed & Fiona,  By the time you can read this you will already know your Dad is... different. He's a true gentleman.  He speaks with a sincere respect towards everyone he meets.  He always opens my car door. When I get out of the shower I know there will be a clean towel sitting on the sink for me. He is fantastic at everything he does, but his modesty will not allow him to boast. (that's where I step in) And the list goes on and on and on This type of man is not self-generated.  Behind every gentleman is a dedicated mother.  Reed, please know that when I watch you struggle to open the door for us I do it because I want you to be a  like your father. Fiona, today you opened the door for me & Reed and said,"after you ladies". Once we get this confusion cleared up I hope you expect nothing less from a man who is courting you. (once you're 30 and able to date that is) Love you, Mom (This picture is from when Ry's  family drove from North

Sunrise Service

Image
Our Easter Morning began with a trip to the beach to watch the sunrise and connect with the day.  I took some beautiful pictures of the kids playing as the pink sun greeted us.  Then I realized I didn't have a memory card in the camera.  A little disappointing, but I did manage to capture some fine shots. I bought her dress at a local thrift store for 50cents.  For these pictures it was worth every penny. T he day continued when we found some clues from the Easter Bunny. Although this Bunny is sharp, the Woodland Kids were on a mission and found all the goodies.

Warmth

Image
Earlier this week I regrettably had to wake Fiona from her nap to get ready for her tap & ballet recital.  I inquired if she had any dreams.  Still half asleep she told me about her dream. When I was a baby in the hospital, Auntie Tammy gave me a teddy bear.  It was so warm.  It was so warm Mommy!    And I heard about this dream a dozen more times, always emphasizing how warm it was. interesting   I can't remember if Tammy brought her a Teddy Bear. What I do know is, her hospital bed was covered in love sent via stuffed animals. They were useful in propping body parts, holding a tube in its proper place and of course they served as a warm reminder that we were not alone in our fear and hope. I know that Auntie Tammy & Tina were there along with all of our family.   Comforting her like she was their own If our little monkey is going to, even subconsciously, retain memories from her hospital stays I find great comfort that this is how she dreams it.
