{A Little Girl & Her Chook}

 I think we've found the perfect pet in chickens. I never would have thought they'd have such personality. They're so easy to take care of. Kids love them. The bonus is of course they lay eggs! Angelina is the newest member of our family. (we bought her months ago) She's replacing Fiona's chicken Flower-Jingle.  Who by the way is a proud new daddy.  That's right our second hen that started to crow is really a rooster.  Which makes me wonder if Tuck (the first "hen" to crow) wasn't a she either??  So our French hen has since moved into the picture.  She's sweet, plump & shy  Even though she may not be the brightest bulb we sure do love her!  It's so darn funny to watch the kids swing on the swing-set with them. I need to find a picture of it to post. I also have a few tribute pictures of Flower-Jingle to post as well. We still miss her  him but we knows he's in loving hands. still twirlin

{What a Deal! What a Bargain!}

I can't help it. When I get a good deal I love to share. If you tell me you like my shoes I'll let you know I got them at k-mart for 10 bucks. I'm proud of that kind of stuff. So let me tell you about our good deal at Monkey Island Resort...  We stayed for 5 nights in this hut on the beach. I snapped the picture below through the mosquito net over our bed.  The fam had gone to play in the ocean.   I could hear them  and see a glimpse of paradise through the doors.   Suddenly the idea of sleeping in no longer interested me.  We ate the majority of our meals there. {I'd say we ate maybe 5 meals elsewhere}   We didn't hold back either.   The kids got fresh smoothies with every single meal.   Ryan and I drank as much Chang as we desired. Can you see Reed got a coconut smoothie.  Fresh from the tree that day and served in the coconut.  While we waited for meals we always read "The Enchanted Wood" to the kids.

{Be Happy For This Moment. This Moment Is Your Life.}

Our last night in Koh Mak was one of those moments I wish I could live in forever. A night that reminded me we're living life the way we've always wanted to. It's not the life for everyone. It's OUR authentic life. We don't own a home. Our car isn't impressive. More often than not the clothes on my back are from the opt shop. We gave up pretty much all our worldly goods to move to Australia. These things aren't important to Ryan and I.  I suspect that's one of the reasons we're such a perfect match.  We are enriched by love and adventures.  We try our best to focus on the most basic pleasures rather than seeking material goods to show our worth.   Live the life you love. Love the life you live. There are two things we should give our children. One is roots. The other is wings. Fathers of little boys work from son up 'til son down Have a best friend who will never let you down I rec
