Crazy Hair Day!

Image
Today is the last day of term 2. It's also Free Dress and Crazy Hair Day.... Reed went for the spooky look. He wasn't too keen to have his photo taken.  Fiona went for the cute cupcake look.  Daddy's Lil' Cupcake for sure! It's hard to believe our lil' monkeys are half-way through grade one. I can't wait for the next two weeks off.  No school lunches to be made, no rushing around... it's going to be AMAZING!!

A Note...

The day after we told the kids about the baby they told the entire school.  Each teacher and the principal heard it twice over. Once from Reed, again from Fiona. Fiona brought the framed ultrasound photo to school and propped it on her desk as she worked.  It's Big in their world. Which means it's big news in our community. I'm so grateful for everyone's shared excitement. Thank you all! This note came home in Fiona's lunchbox... Little kids are great, aren't they? So thoughtful and straight forward. I love how she mentions that they are clean "cleen" that's important in a friend isn't it? As adults we don't mention that to each other often enough. :)

Teeny-Tiny News!!!

It's True! We're having a baby! Here's the scoop... Ryan had a vasectomy almost 3 years ago.  Quickly we regretted our hasty and poor decision. This past Halloween before leaving Thailand he had a reversal surgery performed.  We didn't tell anyone about this decision. Okay, we did tell the kids teachers because they came back from our trip writing in their journals that we're getting a baby from Bangkok.  We obviously had to clear that one up. The chances of a reversal working are not that great, about 65%.  So you can imagine how happy we were when only after a few fun months of trying we got pregnant. We found out the day before our 8th wedding anniversary. I had a good feeling I had a bun in the oven. Okay, I was fairly certain.   I woke up at 4am and took the test which quickly came out positive.  I didn't sleep a wink. I waited until 7 to tell Ryan. I snuggled up close to him and started singing, "Good morning Ryan I've news fo

We may not have it  all together, but together we have it all.

Lately life in our home is like a city. Busy, always changing and never a dull moment. Saturday we headed into the CBD of Melbourne. of course "Pink Teddy A.K.A Princess Claudia" came along for the trip she's well loved  Reed wanted to visit a comic book store. We did and it made his day. Melbourne is the 4th most expensive city in the world to live. It puts New York to shame. Of course this is where we've decided to plant ourselves. You get what you pay for. It's a beautiful place and I will never regret calling it home.

A Hard Worker In A Tiny Body

This week Fiona got Student Of The Week! She certainly deserves it. This little girl is such a hard worker. She is always writing books and creating art. Without a doubt she's going places in this world. Gotta love her.
