We're Home!

There's so much to report about the last month.
  Where to start?

How about the kids & the move.
Both Reed & Fiona have adjusted extremely well.
This is a huge relief.
The past couple of months when Canada would come up in conversation, Reed would yell, "NO, we are NOT moving to Canada!" as he stomped out of the room.

We were left with no choice but to trick him.
After a few days of setting up the house, we met my parents at the border to pick-up the kids. As we drove further from the U.S. towards our new home, we never once said "Canada"  or "The new house".
Instead we said, "The cottage, where we will fish". This got us through the final leg without any blow-ups.

We pulled up to the house and the car burst with cheers.  "Look at the lake!" they both yelled.
(really a river)
So far so good, I think to myself

Then
Reed stepped out of the car.
He suspiciously eyed the house.
The look of outrage came over his face as he screamed,
"This is Canada!
(He recognized it from this video)

I think he was more upset about being duped than anything.

His fit didn't last long.
Soon he & Fiona ran through the house as if it were a wonderland
A wonderland of their own stuff
At that moment peace washed over me.

Long way of saying, We're all made it happily & Safely home.
I'll catch you up on the other details soon.

Last night before bed we made & decorated paper boats.
( Reed wanted his to be white)

Their little heads fell asleep with the promise of sailing them on "Our River" in the morning.
Here are some pictures...

The yellow boat is/was mine

The way she looks up to him is both magical & scary

I love this last picture of Reed.
So comfy cozy.
After snapping this shot I immediately jumped in for a snuggle.
