Image
Apparently The Great Pumpkin has begun working on Reed's request..... Our first snow in Quebec O ne of the many reasons why we call her a "nut". But she's OUR nut and we love her nutty ways.

Preparations are being made for Halloween. The little tikes are more into it this year than ever. They welcomed Daddy into the "Spooky house" Saturday was the perfect  crisp Autumn day.   We alternated between sitting around the fire pit reading Halloween books and  going for walks along the river.  It was a simple day of togetherness. We Ryan carved one of 4 pumpkins.   Pirate Pumpkin

Letters

Image
With Halloween around the corner the kids wrote  letters to The Great Pumpkin. (They have recently discovered the timeless world of Charlie Brown)    You know I had no influence when you read "lots and lots & lots of snow"  Sorry this is sideways.   Miss Fiona wanted to write a letter to Santa too. Fair enough but this is not what I was expecting. My favorite part is "It's me.  Fiona." Other fun news * Contrary to what I initially would have thought, Reed was the first to come home from school singing French songs. He inspires me. * We recently went to a big hockey game. (no pictures because my camera broke while we were there) The next day we asked the little ones what their favorite part of the game was. Reed: "The hot dog" Fiona: "The lollipop" I think next time instead of buying expensive tickets we'll just head to the local Ice Rink and hang out by the snack bar. * The kids call passing gas a "squeak...

Reed's 5th Year

T he past couple of weeks I've been working on Reed's Birthday video here and there when I had a spare minute. This morning the kids sat on my lap and watched the final product. They swayed to the familiar music as their cherub voices sang along. I love how the songs from the various videos I've made for them become part of our family soundtrack & sing-alongs. Reed's 5th Year from Trudy Woodland on Vimeo . This video is composed of photo's from Reed's 5th year of life. It was a great year!

T omorrow Reed will be five! For certain he's growing up quickly .   I'm really enjoying the person he's becoming so I don't wish for time to go backward.    I'm just appreciating the little boy he is right now. A boy who loves trains his harmonica as well as his "Guy" (he calls his stuffed animals his Guys) Here are Reed's Five Year Old Pictures: Tomorrow I'll post his Annual Birthday Video

What's At The End Of A Rainbow?

Image
We had such a wonderful Saturday as a family.   (I'll post pictures soon)    The ending of our day was just perfect. The sun was setting Then we spotted it. A complete Rainbow! A Double Rainbow! It was so big and close I couldn't get a complete picture of it. So, here's a video. What's at the end of a rainbow? Love Lots and lots of Love!

Tea For One

Image
Yesterday we were all sick.  The exception.... Miss Fiona. She set up a tea party &  no one came. C'est la vie I know Reed is very sick when in the middle of the day he asks to go to bed. He was up at 3a.m. letting me know he feels much better.

A Bottle of Glue

Hunting Season officially began this past weekend.    This is Reed's take on hunting,"The hunters are going to get some deer and bring them home."   All week he has been retelling his understanding of the hunting process over and over. I shared with Ryan, "I think he thinks they're taking them home as pets."  I couldn't help it.  Yesterday I broke down and questioned Reed, "So what do they do with the deer once they get them home?"  With a hint of my mom is so dumb attitude Reed responded, "Mom, they bring them to the zoo."   I am so glad they were at school today when a truck drove past our house with a moose head strapped to the top. ########################################################################## Between rain showers we made a trip to the park. This is the note we left on. We've been talking and singing and doing projects with the  autumn theme.   Here's the project they worked on yesterday. Pain...
