Little Brother or Little Sister?

Image
Yesterday we had our BIG ultrasound. The tech wrote the gender on a card and put it in a sealed envelope. We brought it and a box to a balloon shop with instructions to fill it with either pink or blue balloons depending on the sex of our little one. We grabbed the kids out of school early so we could all find out together. Finally we set up a video camera and my camera for still shots to capture the big reveal. They both failed! What can you do?  Such is life. Are you curious as to what we're having? The five stars on the box represent the five of us. They're in shape of the southern cross constellation,  representing where this baby was dreamed up, conceived and grown. More importantly our little bub is looking so healthy. The tech was extremely thorough. We are so grateful to have this little miracle! xoxo

Day @ The MCG

Image
Last weekend we joined some friends and took the train into the city for our first footy match...  Fiona was armed with her camera...  We were going for the underdogs, Carlton.   Quickly Reed changed teams and went for Richmond.   Ry joined him because that's the kind of dad he is.  Fiona, she was crazy!  She was so in tune to the game.  I couldn't believe how much she knew about it.  The first goal she told me, "If it goes in the middle they get 6 points."  How did she know that? Beyond that she turned out to be one of those loud, boisterous fans. You know the type.  I told her I didn't know she was like that and she said, "I didn't know that about myself, until today." The MCG! Was the place to be, because guess what?   Carlton unexpectedly won! Fiona found a 10 cent coin on our way in.   She is certain it's a lucky coin now and attributes the win to it. Reed did ...

A conversation with Reed this morning... Reed: "Mum we're only a little poor, right?" Me: That's right buddy. Reed: But we're really rich in love, right? Me: {heart melting}Yes we are! Only true royalty knows what's important in life.

Change Is Good!

Proud as a peacock, Reed came running out of school.  "Look what I made for the baby!" "It's a mama bird and her baby."  Now I'm on the hunt for a frame. This will go above the baby's crib. My body is changing. I love it! My belly is starting to pop, the flutters within are felt.   It's amazing! I can't wait to get bigger and have the rest of the family feel him/her shuffle around. For now Fiona Read's to it, Reed notes the changes it's imposing on my body and Ryan loves on it with gentle rubs and kisses. Our family portrait is changing too. Ha! Yes, my breast are changing too!
