Happy Halloween!!!! I'm sure I've written about Halloween in Australia before.  Generally it's not even close to the same here as it is in America.  I would never walk around the neighborhood and trick or treat. There are certain blocks that will have balloons outside their house to indicate they are participating and last year we participated in that.  Other years we had our own trick or treat in the house. {see  HERE  for some past Halloweens} Last weekend we were invited to a Halloween party... Ryan was a zombie. Reed Moe was a zombie slayer... Fiona was a pumpkin princess- "Pumpkintina"  Long ago my sister advised me to choose how I want them to dress for Halloween because soon enough they will have their own ideas and most likely I won't be able to sway them.  Boy was she right.  I was hoping for a Peanuts theme. (I always thought Reed would be a great Charlie Brown) Instead I got this motley crew...  Clayton wa...

Halloween part 2

Australia doesn't embrace Halloween like we do in the States.   We certainly don't want to be THOSE Americans  so trick-or-treating was out of the question. Instead the kids went door to door in our own home. Ryan & I took turns behind all of the doors in the house as our little ghouls knocked and in unison gave us the choice; trick or treat?   Can you count to a gazillion? That's okay,  you don't need to count the pictures you can just look at them. Ry's favorite Reed was so into posing I had a tough time taking pictures. I couldn't stop laughing. Is she not the prettiest witch you've ever seen? Things are about to get crazy!! Ryan gave a whole new meaning to MAD scientist Reed dressed up Tigger as a "pirate" Getting batty again From our family to yours.....BOO! Hope you had a fun Halloween.

Apparently The Great Pumpkin has begun working on Reed's request..... Our first snow in Quebec O ne of the many reasons why we call her a "nut". But she's OUR nut and we love her nutty ways.

I'm in hopes this year's trick- or- treating is an inkling of what's to come this holiday season. We had a blast! We gathered at friends house and set out as a group to trick-or-treat. Most parents were taking their beer and wine with them for the trek. Given that they are wonderful parents as well as respected members of the community I thought this was a fine idea too. As we walked, I gave a little hoot as my hat flew off. Then I let out a holler because I foolishly grabbed for it with my beer hand, pouring most of the beer directly down my back. Some little legs began to get tired, so we separated from the group and began to make our way back to the house. Along the way we stopped at a few houses we hadn't hit up the first round. At one I noticed the women give me a look. A shameful look. This is what I imagine she said to her husband when she retreated inside, "What the hell is wrong with that mother? She can't even go trick or treating with her chil...
