Woodland Antics

Friday was the last day of grade two for these kiddos. Where did that year go? When I put these two pictures next to each other I was taken aback. I hadn't realized how much growth had happened this year...  Here are the past years...

Yesterday was Athletics Day at the kids school.  There's Fiona getting ready for the sprint.  That hat! We fixed it up for the next race.  Always smiling! She is probably the youngest child in her grade and she's really petite but she has spirit and zip 10 times her size.   Clay helped me cheer all the kids on.  Even though his morning nap was delayed he was so good. Gotta love baby #3, they just go with the flow. Clay and I did our very best to watch both Reed and Fiona do their field events but they were going on simultaneously on opposite sides of the oval. We also missed about 40 minutes of events in the morning (they arrived at the field just after 9 and leave at 1.30). I was able to watch Reed do the high jump...  He's such a natural. He cleared it no problem.   Throwing the discus..  While the kids ate lunch a few were asked to come up for an interview. Something I really like about this...

Reed & Fiona are participating a 9 week Circus Skills program at school. Reed's teacher sent me these pictures along with a couple of videos of him. Isn't he something? For some reason he isn't a big fan of this circus training stuff. He thinks it makes everyone act crazy. If you could do us a favor and call, email or even leave a comment telling him how great you think he is I know it will make a difference in his anxiety level. Much appreciated. XO

I've been slacking on posting recent events in this space.  I'm in hopes to catch up over the next few weeks... Here are the kids first/last days of school pictures.  Fiona kills me with that fake smile up there.   Reed cracks me up with his "not impressed" faces down below. This is the one from last year... I can't believe how quickly time flies by. Still every year I love them more and more so I can't wish time to stand still. Instead I stand in awe of how much I can love.

I just got back from the kid's Athletics Carnival. Just like last year, Reed and Fiona are in the Yellow House  and will always be throughout their time at this school.  If by chance our baby goes to their school, he too will represent the Yellow House. That Fiona always has a smile on her face!  In the above picture Reed missed the start whistle. So easily he gets frustrated. This is him barely trying to catch up. It kills me because he's so fast...  The Long Jump...  Wow! Look how high he jumps... shot put  This school is so special.   All the kids cheer and chant for each other, it's amazing! You can feel the love. Discus Throw Reed is the guy up front there.  He won 2 sprint races!! What a fun day for all of us! {I have to admit, I loved catching up with all my friends too.}
