Road Trip

The past couple of weeks we've been on the most fantastic trip to Thailand. Now we're home, grasping for normalcy as our heads spin with longing thoughts of our holiday.  I'll certainly be sharing highlights from our trip for months to come. Before we left I had a lot of catching up to do in this space. I'm hoping budget time over the next few weeks to get caught up on the month before our trip.  We had so many wonderful moments I want to record. For instance the road trip to Reed's Birthday Experience...  I love The Great Ocean Road! It's exactly how I pictured Australia. Exactly how Ryan described it to me. I was thrilled when I realized we'd travel along it to Reed's Birthday Experience. Then I realized it's not the same when you're driving a cliff sided road for 4 hours with two little ones in the back anxious to see daddy and set up camp. {and forgot the ipad} Still, It was magnificent.  I don't know how an...

Great Ocean Road Trip Day 2 Morning Fun When camping I usually wake up a million times during the night cold and uncomfortable.  Not on this trip.  I was absolutely comfortable.  I did wake up a few times by the growl of koalas but was quickly lulled back to sleep by the ocean sounds and snores of my slumbering family. After a beautiful nights sleep Fiona and I crossed the road to the beach.   We greeted the sun as we played and took her annual dress photographs. The Koalas within the park and along Grey River Road were amazing.  They were everywhere. What an incredible creature. They make the strangest sound.   The kids made friends with a little English girl who described it well.   She said "they sound like a lion eating a pig."

W e are so happy to have Ryan's parents here for the month. The past couple of days they have been retracing Fiona's Birthday Experience along the Great Ocean Road.  Can you tell we loved that trip? I stayed home to chick-sit.  It's given me the opportunity to create posts for the next few weeks as I won't have time to maintain this space. Here's part 2 of our Great Ocean Road trip... (part 1 is  HERE ) Day 1 Camping I still have no idea what I want to be when I grow up, but I now know my dream job.  I would love to run Kennett River Holiday Park .  It's in such an incredible location.  Across the road, a gorgeous beach.  Only a few meters away, The Kennett River.  Within the grounds, koalas and beautiful birds.  The clientele, relaxed  and enjoying the time of their life.  Could it be any better?  The Rosellas at the campground fascinated us.   Not only were they beautiful but oh so friendly. Reed tri...

Great Ocean Road Trip Day 1 morning We wrestled through the city traffic and reached the  Great Ocean Road in under two hours. First stop... a random beach that we had all to ourselves. This is the way to start a holiday. Headed for the beach Reed's new go to pose taken through a fence. sandy, wet and excited for our next stop we head back to the car This next photo reminds me of a print in an old book. It was in the car park.  My family was peeing on the other side. ha! We drove down the road awhile. Stopping at a park for a picnic lunch and play... The kids played on this Bunyip.   I had no idea what one was until we came home and I looked it up Here Very Australian. Bunyip Next Stop The Campground
