Woodland Antics

 Jan and I hid 60 plastic Easter eggs among the trees at the beautiful R.J. Hamer Arboretum in Olinda. In the Dandenong Ranges, over looking the Yarra. Instead of stuffing each egg I made a basket of treats for Reed & Fiona to share. Rather lazy of me but, because I'm an optimist, I tell myself I was being efficient. Time well spent in a truly beautiful setting. Below you can watch a few clips of the kids hunting...

Miss Fiona obviously didn't like how the Easter Bunny ran the show last Easter which prompted her to write him a letter to ensure this Easter he supplied notes & clues as he had in the past.  While she was at it she decided to ask a few more questions... I love that she gave him a gold coin (which is a total Fiona move) "Love your Bunny fan" Her joke about seeing him "in person or in bunny"- too much. I do appreciate that she would tell us if she was able to meet the Easter Bunny in person. Above the letter continued... "Do you have a pet?" - ha! In the middle of the night E.B. remembered the letter so he had to give a short reply. She quickly responded back... She really got stuck on the, "when will you let me see you?"...of course she did. I personally love her "regards" closing. She stuck it in the door and that night she got a response.... I'm certain E.B. was tired as he wrote this...

The big kids went back to school today.   As I drove them we recapped all the things we did over the past two weeks.  Looking back, it was a fun packed holiday. Before the holiday began we had a family meeting to discuss and chart out our plans... Here's a quick re-cap... We went to the Drive-in to see The Lego Movie.... A two night camping trip to the Grampians.... Trout Fishing in the Yarra Ranges... Waterfalls & Easter Egg hunt in the Dandenogs... A couple nights of backyard fires complete with toasting marshmallows, games of telephone as well as fantastic story telling... {That picture above is a little suspect, therefore funny to me.}  Flying Foxes...
