Sometimes I'm forgetful.... For example I forgot to post this last week. S unday was Ryan's Birthday. 33 I like that number on him Although I've always loved the # 33  It reminds me of Larry Bird As a little girl I always wanted to marry Larry I'm grateful my taste in men have changed Because 33 looks much better on Ryan Friends came by to celebrate. Yesterday Fiona was still on a sugar high. Today she's going through detox. ############################################################################################# Last night Ryan & I were going through our storage closet It felt As though we were archeologist  digging through the remnants of a past life A life that was more adventurous than the past few years It could have been depressing But  we are embarking on a new adventure I take back the archeologist comment.   We were more like pirates finding a treasure. We had Chick Night @ the beach this week.  Above are the little girls of the group. O ne funny story to share about this night... Reed came to me telling me he had to pee. I told him to "Go over there and pee in the water." (meaning discreetly)   A few moments later, I see him standing at the edge of the water, pants down, peeing in the water. Better yet, there was a group of kids who got a full frontal view. Oh Reed! What can I do but love you to pieces.

T his morning the house shook as Reed watched a video clip of the cats hanging in a tree.  In all the world there is no laugh that can compare to Reed's Belly Laugh, I want to bottle it up.   Click  HERE! to see the clip. T ypically Ryan puts the kids to bed.  It's their special time together and my special time alone.  Tonight Ryan is hanging out with a friend and I have bedtime duty. I think they may have finally fallen asleep. I was able to wash their faces, get pajamas on and brush teeth in record time.  Their motivation? S P A R K L E R S ! I think the play-doh idea is brilliant. I picked it up from a magazine. *** **** **** *** *** In other news, Fiona wants to "pee standing up" and made a solid attempt to.

This week has been a BIG one! Ry has set a defense date of June 28th @ 1:30 .  This is HUGE . After a decent amount of deliberation we have decided to spend the next two years in Trois-Riveres, Canada. The other options: Port O'Connor, Texas - This job was offered to him first but Ryan wanted to hold out for something better.  Given the oil leaking into the Gulf I'm glad I don't have to explain to the kids that they can't swim among the tar balls. Duluth, MN - A great 3 year post-doc with the Environmental Protection Agency. I know it's beautiful, but we're not really  Minnesota kind of folk. Portland, Maine -  Ryan brought me to Portland for our first Valentines together.  A really hip city.  I can imagine us being a perfect fit.  This offer was the most difficult of them all to say no to, it was such an interesting project working with some really great people.  Washington, DC - This fellowship was working in the political arena.  T...
