Reed's Sixth Birthday...

Reed woke up on his birthday to balloons in his room.  He immediately came into our room and proudly announced that he was now six!  To his surprise the house was decorated with streamers and Captain America decorations.  He had pancakes and strawberries for breakfast. Ice cream and bananas for lunch. Guacamole, oodles of noodles and banana birthday cake for dinner.  In between his favorite meals he hunted for his birthday gifts, played with them and spent some QT with Fiona and I at the beach. Reed celebrated his birthday with all of his favorite things.  As it should be.

Just Six of the millions of things I love about Reed

1. He has the best manners. Please and thank you come so naturally to him.

2. He is extremely appreciative of everything.  When he woke up and saw how we decorated the house for his birthday he came running to our bedroom saying" Thank you so much for decorating the house for me!!" You know the type.  The type of kid you want to buy everything under the sun for, just to see their reaction.

3. How protective of Fiona he is.  This isn't to say he's not too rough with her at times, because he is more than he should be.  But, when it really matters he will do anything to make sure she's safe and sound. I also love that he still calls her Nona. I think the day he always calls her Fiona I will have to take a personal day to spend in bed mourning. I'm not kidding.

4. He starts so very many of his statements with "Did you know." It's Reed's trademark and I love it.

5. He is so silly and truly a funny guy. Man can he make us laugh.

6. His contagious belly laugh. I wish I could bottle it up.

I do plan to take some 6 year old pictures. ( click here for last years)
I'm holding out for two reasons.
1) Ryan needs to cut Reed's hair. It's a bit out of control.
2) I have a photography class tomorrow so I hope to get some tips to apply to his little photo shoot.

A six year old!? Wow - I guess it's time to start teaching him swimming, rock climbing, karate and how to drive. Okay, maybe not karate. Seriously, I love you so much Reed...you're my favorite little boy in the whole world.
