Yesterday the kids & I drove up a winding road through the temperate rainforest of the Dandenong Mountain Range. It felt as if we were in a prehistoric world. I imagined a giant foot stepping out in front of us at any moment. I tried to get the kids to play along but they are too smart and kept reminding me "dinosaurs are extinct mom".

Eucalyptus Regnans (Mountain Ash) is one of the tallest tree species in the world. |
This beautiful tree sheds it's bark in long thin strips that resemble ribbon

The kids had a blast playing with them. | | . | | | | | | | | |

A Crimson Rosella |
Reed & Fiona looked like little gnomes as they played hide-n-seek among the giant forest.
Of course they found mud and made sure they got nice and dirty.

I'm intrigued by this picture because it appears black & white even though it's in full color. |
Happy Hiking,
