Lop Buri- part 1 {Day 13}

Back to our Thailand adventure.

I'm going to jump ahead to one of my favorite days when we traveled to central Thailand to the town of Lop Buri.
The highlight of the trip was visiting  Phra Pran Sam Yot, also known as, Monkey Temple.
There are long-tailed macaques everywhere throughout the town but the best behaved can be found at the temple.

{Just to warn you I've fallen a bit shy of a million pictures in this post}

That's the 800+ year old Monkey Temple in the background of this picture.
Personally I get a kick out of the monk on the motorbike.

This man sold us sunflower seeds and just like that, we made some fast friends.

 I have to admit,
I wasn't as comfortable having random monkeys jumping on me as I thought I would be.

 They're cheeky little creatures.
Great example below, untying Fiona's dress.

 This next picture is the start of a fun story.
  Even though Ry thought he had a good grip on his sunglasses this little guy stole them and headed to the top of temple.  Did Ry get them back?  Yes he did BUT on the monkeys terms.
Corn was traded for the glasses.

 This troop of monkeys has over 3,000 members.

 The newest members to family are pictured below.
Twins had recently been born.

Loving how both of them are smiling for the camera.

 That little foot on her hand making sure she doesn't go anywhere is adorable.
It reminds me of us feeding the wallabies back HERE
 They too would grab our hands to ensure we weren't leaving them.

that's the ticket!

 The temple is home to these little bats.

 It's always strange, but fun, when Thai's ask to take pictures with our children.

 We were completely engrossed in the rich history of the temple.

 The kids gave some money as an offering to Buddha, in hopes of good luck.

The monkeys are not allowed in the temple.

 This guy was our Monkey security guard.
 He followed us around the temple in case we became uncomfortable
 or if the monkeys tried something sneaky he would scare them away with his cane.
 With him next to us they definitely minded their P's and Q's.

I think he got a kick out of Reed.

What a unique experience for all of us!
  I'm thinking these kids are pretty darn lucky.
