{Dance Party}

I've challenged the kids to no screen time this week.
It's been wonderful!
Between reading books they've been listening to countless Magic Tree house audio books as they play and draw.

Last night  as Clay and I danced to John Lennon's Imagine album I watched Ry and the kids drawing at our kitchen table.
I kept thinking about how much I love my life and this little family of ours.
I had to grab my phone and snap a few pictures.

Then Ryan changed the tone by playing a little  John Mellencamp which got Reed up and dancing.
Somehow it progressed into listening to Hole and having a family mosh pit. (seriously)
Fiona continued to confirm my theory that she's going to be a partier.
She was crazy!
"This! Is! Awesome!"
were her exact words as we slammed into one another.
 (lord help us)

Clayton watched on and I can only guess what was going through his little mind.

Reed & Fiona's art, that Reed specifically asked if I would put on the blog...

Reed draws these battles which I imagine could be on walls of caves.
I love them so much because the stories behind them are intricate and fascinating.
 His imagination is remarkable.
I also love him drawing because he's working so hard on his fine motor skills.

Fiona is our realist.
Here's her still life, a bowl of fruit.

The night ended with a slow dance to Somewhere Over the Rainbow & What a Wonderful World by
Israel Kamakawiwo'ole.
It was my favorite bit of the day because Reed asked to slow dance with me and teach me some new steps.
"Just follow my lead mum" as he wrapped his arms around me.

This is what lives riches are. Being able to see and treasure them seems to be as important as having them ....in the scheme of things. So blessed. <3
