{The Bird Feeder}

This weekend our sweet Fiona was sick.  Poor thing.  You know they're not feeling well when 1. It's the weekend  2. They pass up a play date  3. They sleep in the middle of the day.

While she rested the boys set to work building a bird feeder...

They obviously did a fantastic job because look what Reed spotted out the window this morning...

A Galah!

Here's a little information about them:
Galah's are grey and pink cockatoo's that are found in most areas of Australia.  They have a reputation for being a bit of a nuisance.  Galah's are a highly intelligent, social and adaptable animal. They are kept as pets and easily taught to talk.  They're likely to live around 80 years in captivity.
They pair up with a mate for life. {I always find it romantic when animals have a life partner.} If their mate dies galahs have been known to become depressed, though they usually will find a new mate. I also love that both the male and female take care of the babies.
Fiona has informed me that if you're the first person to spot one it's lucky. Her source? Schoolmates.

Job well done boys!
Thank you.
