Today is the first day of grade one for my munchkins. It was so nice to catch up with friends over latte's this morning. Now, it's strangely quiet around here. I'm wondering how they're going. Grateful they are in good hands with beautiful friends by their sides. On their own they remembered to bring apples to their teachers.  Such a classic move. Fiona was extremely excited as I'd expected she'd be.   Reed wasn't as excited. (see photo above) Even so he had only a little anxiety this morning. Things were looking good. As I left his classroom I saw his lower lip quiver.  Before I could react his teacher was there comforting him. I know the moment passed quickly. (I stayed to watch how it would unfold) I know they are in good hands and that makes all the difference.

 The kids and I spent a chilly morning at the beach in Seaford. After all the incredibly hot days we've had it felt so nice. He's so incredibly funny, charming and sweet just for starters. To say I love Reed to the moon and back is a gross understatement.   I wish I had the words to explain to him how much he lights up my world.   How he's made me a better person simply by being my little man.

It's much too late right now for my children to be awake. I can hear the two of them chatting away and laughing. From what I can gather they are making up stories to tell each other.  I just can't find it in my heart to break them up. Oh the magnificent trials of a mom... In other news, Ryan bought me a cell phone.  I am beyond excited.  I've never had a smartphone before. Honestly I don't know if you'd even technically call it a smartphone. Is a smartphone and an android the same thing?  I don't know. All I know is I can make lists, get great apps, check my email and even take pictures on this thing.  I've gotta tell you, it's so nice finally being a part of the 21st century. As a side note- Everything is so much more expensive here.  One of the few exceptions is mobile phone service.  Relative to the states it's extremely cheap.
